      Michigan Fashion Week was formed in 2012 out of a desire to shine a spotlight on the growing industry of designers, artists and models in Michigan and the Midwest. Our aim is to showcase and develop Michigan's talent and provide a platform wherein the rapidly growing market can align itself with other prestigious segments of the American fashion industry. Through the production of events, and social gatherings, MFW assists designers and other industry participants in learning the business of fashion by creating invaluable exposure and networking opportunities and aligning them with experienced professionals and advocates of the industry and in business. Also recognizing the rapid changes in today's global economy, MFW provides a platform for those in the industry by providing an affordable way to promote their brand, business and talent to a broader audience both on a local and national level. 

   The four major current fashion capitals are acknowledged to be Paris, Milan, New York City, and London, which are all headquarters to the greatest fashion companies and are renowned for their major influence on global fashion. We are aiming to bring Michigan Fashion Week to such a level that it can compete with the fashion events held in either one of those 4 cities. Michigan Fashion Week is doing this by maintaining a high level of professionalism in all our areas of work. From professional event production to quality editorial content distributed to all important digital or paper fashion publications, and from the
